Pieces have a rustic Staunton design and are made from solid wood with the black pieces stained dark brown. The king is 3" tall with a base of 1.125" and will poperly fit boards with a 1.5" to 1.75" square. A terrific chess set where you need just a basic chess set at an affordable price.
