The color contrast between the forest green and cream white colored squares is perfectly adequate for a professional tournament game. For smaller sets (club sets) get this one and for larger ones with a broader base get the chess store chessboard. I have the two aforementioned boards for two distinct sets of pieces and they're both great !!!!!
