I bought this set specifically for use while traveling, and it has surpassed all of my expectations. Not only are the magnets of ideal strength (strong enough to hold the pieces in place when the board is inverted, but not too strong so as to interfere with game play) but the set is beautifully crafted and a joy to use. Perfect size for what I wanted. Right size to set on the table next to my computer or set on my leg while sitting in a chair so I can study chess games and problems. You can turn it up-side down and the pieces stay put on the board. Well made and nice finishes. I like it!
