Gladiator Theme Chess Set

This chess set is based on the Gladiators that were enslaved by Rome to fight for the entertainment of Roman citizens. Gladiators were trained in art of warfare and often fought each other to the death in the Roman Coliseum. Gladiators and other slaves led by Spartacus rebelled against Rome and gallantly fought the Romans gaining many victories before finally being conquered and captured. But on the chess board any outcome is possible. The king is 3.25" tall and with a 1 1/8" diameter base. Pieces are made from cast poly-resin, a very hard, stone like material. Pieces are intricately sculpted and hand painted with an amazing level of fine detail. We recommend a chess board with 1 3/4" squares (not included).
