This beautiful package includes our Brass & Metal Civil War Chess Set matched with our Civil War Chess Board. The civil war has long been and continues to be one of the most popular chess set themes. The king's are represented by President's Lincoln and Jefferson Davis with their wife's representing the queens. The bishops are General Ulysses S. Grant and General Robert E. Lee, the knights are calvary, and the pawns foot soldiers. The rook's are represented by the flags of the Union and Confederacy.
Pieces are cast from zinc with the confederate piece brass plated and the union pieces left in a natural pewter color. Only the uniforms are painted leaving creating an elegant effect with the brass and metal. The pieces are lacquered to protect the finish and prevent tarnishing. Our Civil War Chess Board is made from high quality wood veneers. The stain enhances the wood grain creating beautiful and unique patterns. A wide triple inlay (white-black-white) delimiter separates the squares and frame. The board is finished in an elegant glass-like finish.
