This complete chess package includes the Sultan Prestige Staunton Chess Set in Ebony and Red Sandalwood, Deluxe Chess Coffer, and Padauk and Maple Premier Chess Board. Designed and manufactured by our partner Amritsar Ivory works, the Sultan is a stunning piece of contemporary Staunton design. This chess set has a 4.5" tall king and with a unique and elegant knight that features ornate detail and a bridle. The fine detail carved into the knight is exquisite with special attention paid to the eyes, ears, nose, and mouth. The replication of the carvers work from knight to knight is remarkable. The red sandalwood is gorgeous with a blend of rich colors that range from coral red to dark burgundy. The ebony is pure black and polished to a beautiful glossy shine. Matched together, the red sandalwood and ebony create a striking combination.

The king, queen, and bishops have columns with proportionate width and graceful curve. The king has a slight concave top which is quite unique and 2 different finials that can be interchanged according to your personal taste. The queen has a unique and attractive bowl shaped head and 12 sharp points that are perfectly spaced. The bishop miter is average size with a narrow, straight slot. The rooks have a wide base and stand just below the top of the knight's head and have an attractive shallow parapet with perfectly cut crenels. The pawns are average size.

Our Deluxe Chess Coffer has two trays, each tray with 17 compartment for holding the 16 standard pieces plus 1 spare queen. The compartments are cushioned and the entire inside is lined with real billiard cloth to protect pieces from every getting damaged. The Sultan is truly a masterpiece in wood and belongs in all great chess set collections!
