Royal Staunton Chess Set African Padauk & Boxwood Signature Package - 4" King

This package includes our Royal Staunton Chess Set in Ebony and African Padauk matched with our Padauk and Maple Signature Chess Board. The Royal Staunton has a unique character that clearly distinguishes itself from other sets. The king, queen, and bishop have large over-size collars and the kings finial is unique from any other set in our collection. The combination of ebony and African Padauk is gorgeous and the ebony pieces present a stunning contrast against the colors of the African Padauk and maple.

The king is 4" tall with an extra wide base that measures 1.75" making room for lots of weight. This is one of our heaviest sets and there are few if any sets that have pieces with such amazingly good stability on the chess board. The bottoms of the pieces are padded with thick green baize for a nice cushion and easy sliding on the chess board. Pieces are individually hand polished to a beautiful luster. The chess board is nothing less than a fine piece of handcrafted furniture. Constructed from solid wood, it has 3 tiers rising up to the playing surface and elegantly molded edges.
