This complete chess set package includes our Royal Staunton in red sandalwood and boxwood matched with our Bud Rosewood and Maple Deluxe Chess Board. Our Royal Staunton has unique features and a different look from all of our other sets. The red sandalwood pieces are a blend of red, orange, and burgundy polished to a smooth, lustrous finish. The boxwood is beautifully grained and with the ideal medium amber color.

The king, queen, and bishop columns have a graceful curve creating a beautiful profile. The king has a traditional formee cross. The queen's crown has 10 flat-end points that are perfectly spaced and left thick enough to prevent breaking. The bishop miter has a conical shape with a narrow slot. The rooks are tall and with a curve from the parapet to the base.

The rich colors of the red sandalwood chess pieces look stunning against the dark burgundy of the bud rosewood chess board. They are nearly a perfect match. The board has an elegant molded edge finished with a solid black finish to match with the wide black inlay border around the squares. While simple in concept, it creates a beautiful chess board.
