Royal Guard Staunton Chess Set in Golden Rosewood & Boxwood - 2.75" King

Our Royal Guard Staunton chess set is designed for the rigors of everyday play and especially a game of blitz. We introduced the Royal Guard in 2008 with exactly that in mind, a chess set with an attractive knight having only the simplest of features but with a new look players would enjoy. Pieces have green billiard cloth pads for a soft feel when moving and are properly weighted for stability on the chess board. The golden rosewood and boxwood are hand polished to a beautiful sheen. The Royal Guard will prove a favorite for the casual chess game at home or using in tournament play.

I am extremely happy with this set! It is VERY nice - of very good quality...even nicer than I was expecting. It is definitely worth the $40 price. As far as shipping goes, it took a few days longer to arrive than I was expecting, though, so it wasn't here by Christmas, but it worked out OK for us.
