This complete packages includes our Parker Staunton Chess Set in Ebonized Boxwood and boxwood matched with our largest walnut chess case. The Parker is one our exclusive designs with an old classic Staunton look and a handsome knight reminiscent of the older Jaque's chess sets. It has a little more detail than the German Knight or French Lardy but not so much that you need be concerned about breaking the pieces but will look beautiful displayed in your home sitting on this chess case.

This is a tournament size chess set with a 3.75" tall king that features a large formee cross. Pieces have a straight cut base and are heavily weighted for stability on the chess board. The king, queen, and bishops have columns with proportionate width and a graceful curve. The queen's crown is turned to the ideal thickness and has 9 sharp points that are perfectly spaced. The bishop has an unusually large miter that is unique to this set. The knights are stout and heavy with simple detail that looks perfect for this set.

The ebonized boxwood and boxwood chess pieces create a striking contrast against the color of the walnut and maple of the chess board. As with most of our chess sets, 2 extra queens are included. The chess case is made from solid walnut and other wood veneers and has two large drawers, one on each players side. The drawers will hold chess sets with a king base up to 1.625" diameter.
