Checkered Old Russian Staunton Chess Set - 3 3/4" King

One of our newest chess sets with a creative and colorful design like you've never seen before! Chess pieces are made from two types of wood, ebony and boxwood for the black pieces, and rosewood and boxwood for the white pieces. Wood blocks are glued together into a checker pattern and then turned and carved to shape creating a design that looks purely elegant. Chess pieces are finished in high gloss lacquer creating a glass-like finish. The king is 3 3/4" tall and has a base of 1 5/8". Pieces are double weighted and have black leather pads. Pieces come packaged in our black and gold decorative cardboard box. We recommend a chess board with 2" or 2 1/4" squares for this chess set.
