This chess set package includes our Yugoslavia Staunton in ebonized boxwood and boxwood with our Mahogany and Maple Chess Board and matching Mahogany Chess Box. The black and boxwood chess pieces created a sharp and elegant contrast against the rich colors of the mahogany chess board. The mahogany chess box is the perfect compliment to this package and one of the few matching board and box combinations you will find! Our Yugoslavia Staunton originates from the chess set designed for the 1950 Chess Olympiad held in Dubrovnik, Yugoslavia. This unique and handsome Staunton design has since become a favorite for chess players around the world and one of our most popular chess sets.

This set took my breath away, and has exceeded all of my expectations (perhaps because it was my first wooden set). But I think this is fantastic value for money. I was expecting slightly less given the price. But for me, this felt like a premium quality set at an affordable price. The board LOOKS just like the boards used in world-class tournaments (although I've never seen them in person, and so cannot really compare beyond simple appearance). It also felt quite sturdy. Great price, but not high quality as seen in the photos: The pawns and the bishops formats changed a little. The board color and texture may be a little bit different too, but it`s wonderfull and well produced. I am very happy and satisfied with the service quality of TCS, so i recommend this set!

I received the set a week ago and it's just beautiful. I looked all over the net for a good price and the sets at the Chess Store seemed to have the best value for the dollar. Quality has exceeded my expectations, the pieces are just lovely and are near perfect. The pieces are nicely weighted and really feel good to play.
