New Exclusive Staunton Chess Set in Red Sandalwood & Boxwood - 3.5" King

From our Players Series collection, the New Exclusive Staunton has all of the features that an avid chess player and collector looks for in an upper-end Staunton chess set. Pieces have a wide yet elegant profile with a broad base and heavy weighting. The knight is tall and stout with intricate detail. The red sandalwood is gorgeous with a blend of rich colors that range from coral red to dark burgundy. The boxwood is beautifully grained and with the ideal medium amber color.

The king is 3.5" tall and has a traditional formee cross. The queen has an outward arching crown with 10 points. The bishop has a large miter with an unusually wide slot with rounded corners that you find on only the finest sets. The knight has features such as the eyes, ears, nose, and mouth that are meticuoulosly carved and perfectly duplicated from knight to knight. The rooks are stout and heavy with a shallow parapet and 6 crenels that are sharply cut. The pawns are tall and have large heads.
