This classic chess set design has long been a standard for marble, onyx, and stone chess sets and continues to be popular today. The chess pieces have an attractive rustic Staunton look with slightly exaggerated features that facilitate carving solid stone. The Marina Stone (Rose) has shades of pink variegated with veins of dark brown and white creating a colorful pattern that makes this stone so popular for chess sets. The white onyx is predominately solid white but will sometimes have small veins of other colors intermingled. The contrast between these two stones brings out the color of the Mariana Stone even more. We cover the bottom of the chess board with felt to protect your furniture.
