I wanted a nce metal chess set that I could afford, and after much mental debate, picked out this set. It turned out to be a good choice! It is beautiful and feels nice and heavy. The engraving makes this a great display set as well. The only issue could be the luster between gold and silver. Under lower lighting, it might be more difficult to see the difference, so a bright white light is best. I placed the set on a marble board and it really looks great. These Staunton Metal Chess pieces are beautifully crafted, and weighted. They come in a decorative cardboard box with formed tray for individual piece storage. The chess pieces have good weight to them. With metal chess pieces you donât have to worry about the wood on chess pieces cracking on you. I think for this reason metal chess pieces are a good buy.
