Khan's Stallion Staunton Chess Set in Ebony & Boxwood with Macassar Chess Case - 4" King

This elegant chess set package includes our Khan's Stallion Staunton Chess Set in ebony and boxwood matched with a beautiful Macassar Chess Case. Our Khan's Stallion has an extraordinary knight with a stature resembling that of a Mongolian stallion with its thick, rounded neck and mane. The fine detail is exquisite with special attention paid to the mane, eyes, ears, nose, and mouth. Columns on the king, queen, and bishop have a slight curve and the base has a large fillet which is unique to this set. The king has a unique barbee cross and the queen has an urn shaped head. The bishop has a smaller than average miter with a straight, narrow slot. The rook has a deep parapet and with 6 tall crenels that have round corners. The Khan is a truly a piece of art that you will not only enjoy playing chess with but it will look stunning displayed on this case.

The chess case has macassar ebony and bird's-eye maple squares that are accentuated by a narrow checkered border and bird's-eye maple frame. The sides are covered in a beautiful burgundy color burl wood. The entire case has a high gloss polyurethane finish that gives it a glass-like look. There are two drawers, one on each side, with individual cloth-lined compartments for storing chess pieces. The polished ebony and boxwood pieces sitting atop this case with its rich colors look spectacular!
