This chess set package includes our Grande Staunton Chess Set in red sandalwood (bud rosewood) and boxwood matched with our Bud Rosewood and Maple Deluxe Chess Board. As you can see from our photo, the chess set and board is a perfect match. The blend of red, burgundy, and coral colors of the red sandalwood produces the most colorful wood used for making chess sets. The Grande Staunton has an unusually robust but eloquent profile that makes room for extra weighting. The knights have a graceful design and are meticulously carved with intricate detail found only on the finest Staunton chess sets. Truly one of our heirloom quality chess sets that any serious chess player and collector would love to own! As with most of our chess sets, spare queens are included.
