Our Fierce Knight Staunton chess set is a blend of contemporary and traditional Staunton design featuring knights that are carved with realistic features. The perked ears, eyes, mouth, and mane create a fierce looking countenance that gives this set its name. The pieces have an elegant profile that is carefully turned to perfection on every piece and the ebony and boxwood are hand polished to a rich sheen. The pieces have green billiard cloth pads for a soft feel on the chess board and are heavily weighted for exceptional stability. I had orginally purchased the 3.5" pieces and was amazed at their crafsmanship but was smaller than I wanted. I decided to trade them in for the 4" and glad I did. The 4" are significantly heavier/bulkier with a nice thunk when you place them on the large walnut board (with drawers). They are truely a sweet sight to behold and even more enjoyable to play with. Excellent!! Thank you, thank you.

The pieces are all beautifully crafted and weighted just right. The Knight is incredibly detailed and thick. I searched high and low before deciding on this set. I am completely happy. Paired this set with a Mahogany & Maple 2.375" Chess Board. They look stunning together.
