Fierce Knight Staunton Chess Set in Ebony & Boxwood with Macassar Chess Case - 3.5" King

This elegant chess set package includes our Fierce Knight Staunton Chess Set in ebony and boxwood matched with a beautiful Macassar Chess Case. The Fierce Knight has a knight with a fierce countenance from which this set is named. The knight's fine detail is exquisite with special attention paid to the mane, eyes, ears, nose, and mouth. All of the pieces have a slender profile with a graceful curve from the collar to the base. The king has a trational formee cross while the queen's crown is turned to the perfect thickness to keep from easily breaking and has 9 points that are perfectly spaced. The bishop miter is slender and symetrical from top to bottom with a wide slot that is rounded on each side.

The chess case has macassar ebony and bird's-eye maple squares that are accentuated by a narrow checkered border and bird's-eye maple frame. The sides are covered in a beautiful burgundy color burl wood. The entire case has a high gloss polyurethane finish that gives it a glass-like look. There are two drawers, one on each side, with individual cloth-lined compartments for storing chess pieces. The polished ebony and boxwood pieces sitting atop this case with its rich colors look spectacular!
