The Fierce Knight has a knight with a fierce countenance from which this set is named. The knight's fine detail is exquisite with special attention paid to the mane, eyes, ears, nose, and mouth. All of the pieces have a slender profile with a graceful curve from the collar to the base. The king has a traditional formee cross while the queen's crown is turned to the perfect thickness to keep from easily breaking and has 9 points that are perfectly spaced. The bishop miter is slender and symmetrical from top to bottom with a wide slot that is rounded on each side.
The blend of red, burgundy, and coral colors of the red sandalwood chess pieces look stunning against the dark burgundy of the bud rosewood chess board. They are nearly a perfect match. The board has an elegant molded edge finished with a solid black finish to match with the wide black inlay border around the squares. While simple in concept, it creates a beautiful chess board.
