This beautiful brass and nickel plated chess set from Manopoulos is based on the Minoan civilization developed and reached its reyday on the Island of Crete. The center of this civilization was the palace of Knossos, which was one of the most important archaeological discoveries of the Greek history. Chess pieces are hand-cast in solid zinc and then brass and nickel plated. Chess pieces are then lacquered to keep the lustrous finish from ever tarnishing.
