This beautiful brass and nickel chess set from Manopoulos is based on the Greek and Roman cultures and their military conquests. The pawns are represented by row of archers from which this chess set has its name. Chess pieces are hand-cast in solid zinc and then brass and nickel plated. Chess pieces are then lacquered to keep the lustrous finish from ever tarnishing. This chess set is also available in complete chess set package includes the Manopoulos chess board and wood case for storage.

for the price this was a great value. when I received it I really like the look and weight of the pieces, but I thought the board size and squares were to small for the peices. When I placed the peices on my bigger board I thought they might work ,but the pawn achers seem to get in the way of the of thre opponets archers so it 's this reason I did not fully enjoy the set. for the money I'd have to say this was a very great value but It just didn't work for me.
