The Elephant Hand Carved chess set is one of the most impressive sets in our collection. Made from ebony and sandalwood, this chess set is entirely carved by hand. Soon after you open the case you will be hit by the beautiful aroma of the aormatic sandalwood. Its wonderful aroma makes this one of the most unique varity of wood in the world.
The pieces are represented by elephants and camels of various designs and sizes. The king is 4 1/2" tall with a 2" wide base and the pieces have black leather pads on the bottom. This chess set design has been around for years but only a very small number is ever available due to the small number of artisans that carve these sets and the extensive hand carving required to produce each one.
This chess set is more suited for presentation than play as you might find it a little confusing keeping track of which piece is which.
