Our Deluxe
Staunton chess set originates from the chess set produced by Checkmate
International for the prestigious John Jaques of London. A traditional
Staunton design in every respect, this chess set has become a standard
that nearly every chess set manufacturer attempts to emulate. Our chess
set is also made by Checkmate International and to the same stringent
specifications as its earlier predecessor. Chess pieces are pure
black ebony and boxwood that are hand polished to a beautiful luster.
The king is 3 1/4" tall with a base of 1 3/8". Chess pieces are triple weighted and have black leather pads. Consider our black leather chess box for this chess set, it makes a beautiful combination!
