Just rec'd my Deluxe Old Club Staunton Chess Set and am thrilled with it. Much nicer than I had anticipated. Flawlessly finished, with a nice weight.

I bought one of these sets about 4 years ago. This is a great set. It is still in great shape. After a couple of years, the finial broke on the black king when I was at a tournament but The Chess Store was able to replace the king for a minimal cost. Great customer service for a very good value. I have just bought a French Lardy Set from them and could not be happier with the purchase. I think the House of Staunton has some serious competition here.

Just got my set via UPS, this set is to die for, the King is the right height at 3.75", all pieces are heavy & smooth, just right! Also purchased a maple board and maple box to store my pieces, very satisfied!

Purchased this set in December and am I ever pleased. I have always preferred my old Drueke Players Choice set for tournament play, and have always wanted an affordable wood set that comes close in design. This set is it. It's an incredible set. high quality, and a joy to use. Couldn't be more pleased...that's two sets I have bought from The Chess Store, but it won't be the last.
