We designed this traditional Staunton chess set pattern specifically for marble and onyx to capture as much shape and detail as possible in a material that is far more difficult to work with than wood. The Marina Stone (Rose) has shades of pink variegated with veins of dark brown and white creating a colorful pattern that makes this stone so popular for chess sets. The black marble is primarily solid black but may have gray mottled patterns and lighter variegations. The contrast between these two stones brings out the color of the Mariana even more.
