An ideal chess board choice because underneath you have a box with compartments for storing chess pieces and backgammon chips. This leatherette chess board has 1 3/8" squares and an overall size of 14" square and 1 1/2" tall. There are 32 compartments for holding chess pieces up to 3 1/4" tall with a 1" diameter. There are 5 other compartments for holding backgammon chips or other game pieces.
