This chess set package includes our British Staunton Chess Set in golden rosewood and boxwood matched with a beautiful walnut folding chess case! Our British Staunton chess set originates from the old British Chess Company design from years past. This chess set features a sleek profile, beautifully carved knights that are smaller than any other chess set, and oversize pawns. An unusual but very popular combination that results in an exceptional chess set for both tournament play and a beautiful chess display! As you can see from our photo, the colors of the chess pieces and chess board are a perfect match and look beautiful together. As with most of our chess sets, 2 extra queens are included. The chess case is made from solid walnut, walnut and maple veneers. It opens up to a large 17.5" chess board with 1.875" squares. The perimeter of the board has a raised frame and an attractive inlay border surrounds the outside of the case. The inside is lined with a soft gold velour material. Strong magnets keep the case closed. An unbeatable value at this price!

This set is quite nice particularly for the price. The pieces are easy to differentiate and well crafted. The board is great. Being able to store the set with the board folded in half is a great space saver.
