The chess board is inlaid macassar ebony and elm root with the entire case finished in a beautiful high gloss polyurethane creating a glass-like finish. A drawer on each players side has 16 velvet lined compartments for safely storing chess pieces and will fit chess sets with kings up to 3 1/4" tall and with a base up to 1 3/8".
