In
2006 one of our brass chess sets appeared in the movie X-Men, The Last Stand. It was used in the
final scene in which Magneto whom had lost his power to move metal objects,
was playing chess in a park and was able to just barely make a metal chess
piece quiver - a suspenseful ending to an action packed movie!
In
2003 the television series The West Wing purchased several chess sets,
boards, and boxes for an episode titled Heartfield's Landing. In this
episode the Prime Minister of India presented the President a gift of chess
sets. The President started two different chess games with his staff,
moving from room to room to make his moves, while at the same time dealing
with a serious international matter. The following year The West Wing purchased another chess set and
board that used as props in the White House furnishings.
In
July of 2004 one of our chess sets appeared in a popular men's
entertainment magazine in its product review section. The magazine was so happy with our first
chess set they asked for another one the following year that appeared in
the December issue.
