This is our collection of Staunton chess sets in ebonized boxwood and boxwood. The term simply refers to the fact that these chess sets are stained black. Boxwood takes stain very well and leaves no visible grain thus giving these chess pieces the appearance of real ebony. Our ebonized sets are then polished to a beautiful luster giving you the look and feel of real ebony at half the price!
