General Guidelines for the Holidays

• Order early! Nothing can be done about bad weather and you can expect bad weather in late November and December. The earlier you order the better.

• Orders ship same day if placed by 8am PST. Please call if you need same day shipping after 8am.

• The entire country can expect delivery by Christmas with UPS Ground if the order is placed by noon on December 17th.

• Time-in-transit does  not start when you place your order, it starts the day after it is shipped.

• UPS does not guarantee a late delivery if it is caused by bad weather and USPS does not guarantee Priority Mail at all.

• Read the time-in-transit information and map at the bottom of this page to determine your delivery date.

• Delivery time of international orders is not guaranteed by The Chess Store. Complications can arise and the release of international shipments by customs is out of The Chess Store's control.

UPS Christmas & New Year's Holiday Schedule

Please read and familiarize yourself with the special UPS holiday schedule for pickup and delivery and how these changes will delay normal delivery times. These guidelines are provided by UPS.

Thursday, Dec. 20
Normal pickup and delivery service for air, international and ground packages. UPS Next Day Air packages picked up today will arrive Friday, Dec. 21. UPS 2nd Day Air packages picked up today will arrive on Monday, Dec. 24.

Friday, Dec. 21
Normal pickup and delivery service for air, international and ground packages. UPS Next Day Air packages picked up today will arrive Monday, Dec. 24. UPS 2nd Day Air packages picked up today will arrive Wednesday, Dec. 26.

Saturday, Dec. 22
Delivery of UPS Worldwide Express, UPS Next Day Air and UPS 2nd Day Air packages processed and labeled for Saturday Delivery.

Monday, Dec. 24, Christmas Eve
Normal delivery service for air, international and ground packages.

Tuesday, Dec. 25, Christmas
No UPS pickup or delivery service.

NEW YEAR'S
Friday, Dec. 28
Normal pickup and delivery service for air, international and ground packages. UPS Next Day Air packages picked up today will arrive Monday, Dec. 31 (except those processed and labeled for delivery on Saturday, Dec. 29). UPS 2nd Day Air packages picked up today will be delivered Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013. Note: This is the last day to ship UPS Ground until Jan. 2.

Saturday, Dec. 29
Delivery of UPS Worldwide Express, UPS Next Day Air and UPS 2nd Day Air packages processed and labeled for Saturday Delivery.

Monday, Dec. 31, New Years Eve
Delivery of UPS Worldwide Express, UPS Next Day Air and UPS 2nd Day Air packages.

Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, New Years Day
No UPS pickup or delivery service.

Shipment Notification & Tracking Number

You will receive an email with tracking information the evening your order ships. From this email you can track the status of your order. Orders shipped by USPS Priority Mail will not receive a tracking number.
